Current crafting for charity project

Project Friendship Quilt for Disability Africa

People from all over the UK have stitched wild flower panels and the team are currently making a contemporary lap quilt that will be raffled very soon.  So far, from the packs, we have raised over £200 and we expect to raise more with the raffle.  A full report coming soon.

At Crafts & Company we know just how important supporting charities can be.  More and more charities are open to craft events and campaigns as a way of raising both awareness and vital funds.  So far we have worked with the following charities –

Mind – a workshop where we worked with mixed media to create a decorated mirror – all funds raised to the charity

Little Dresses for Africa – we stitched our way to 167 dresses for little girls in Africa

Ayrshire Hospice – made handmade gifts for the charity to sell at their Christmas 2016 market

RNLI – Christmas crafts day with all profits to charity & Christmas stocking gifts – all sales money to charity

Mary’s Meals – workshop across the island decorating pencil cases for the backpacks that go to children in Malawi.

We are currently knitting squares for the Knit a Square charity to be made in blankets for AIDS orphans in South Africa.

We are in the processing of ‘extending our reach’ with the formation of a small working group that will oversee and plan the campaigns reporting back here and on our FACEBOOK PAGE.  You don’t have to be on the island to get involved so if you would like to ‘craft for charity’ just drop us a message and we will involve you in our plans.  We are setting up an e-mail group to keep everyone up to date.  All help most gratefully received.  xx
